Privacy Policy

Leafturn turns the photos on your device into a printed book. This policy explains what we do — and deliberately don't do — with your photos and your personal information. Questions to hello@leafturn.app.

The short version

Your photos

To build your book, Leafturn asks for access to your photo library. All analysis — finding your best shots, grouping them into chapters, choosing crops — happens on your device using Apple's on-device frameworks. No photo, thumbnail, or description of your photos is sent to us while you browse, build, or edit a book.

When you place an order, the app renders your finished book into print files and uploads them, along with the chosen photos, to our storage so our print partner can produce your book. We keep these files so we can reprint your book if something goes wrong, then delete them: the photo files within 12 months of the order, and the rendered print files within 24 months.

Ordering a book

To print and deliver your book we collect your name, delivery address, phone number, and email address, along with the book's details (format, page count, the title you typed). We share the delivery details and the print files with our print partner, who produces the book and passes your delivery details to the courier. Your phone number is collected in case the courier needs to reach you about the delivery, and is used only to handle your order.

Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we receive only a payment reference and the outcome. If you have an account and choose to save a card for next time, it is stored by Stripe, not by us.

We keep records of your orders — including anonymised purchase records after account deletion — where the law requires it (for example, for tax and accounting).

Your account

An account is optional — you can order as a guest. If you create one, it consists of your email address only; there is no password. To sign in, we email you a short-lived code. Sign-in and order emails are delivered by our email provider, Resend.

Usage statistics

The app sends anonymous statistics about how it is used — for example, that a book was created or an order was placed — to our own servers. These are tied to a random identifier created on your device, not to you, your email, or your photos, and are deleted within 180 days. You can turn this off in the app's settings, which also deletes the random identifier from your device. We use no third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

Where your data lives

Our servers, database, and file storage run on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Operational server logs are kept for 7 days. Our service providers — Cloudflare, Stripe, our print partner, and Resend — may process data outside your country; where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from inside the app. Deletion erases your uploaded photos and book files and removes your name, address, and email from our records; anonymised purchase records are kept where the law requires it. If an order is still being printed, deletion becomes available once it has shipped. You can also email hello@leafturn.app to exercise this or any other data-protection right, including access to the data we hold about you.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update this page and note the new date at the top. Significant changes will also be flagged in the app.
